MARQUETTE -- The 15th year of the Blueberry Dance Festival in Marquette is this week! It is a community-wide event, open to all ages and abilities. It’s hosted by Kaufman Auditorium and the Marquette Senior High School Varsity Dance Team.
Free drop-in dance classes are from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today. Master classes with NFL Cheerleader Emilee Iuvara are on Thursday. Contemporary class is from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Jazz class is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Pom class is 2-4 p.m. Master classes are $50 a class, or $125 for all three classes.
All classes are held at Kaufman Auditorium, 611 N. Front St., Marquette.
The Blueberry Dance Festival competition and showcase begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Kaufman Auditorium. The showcase will feature performances from the contemporary and pom master classes. Following the showcase is the competition, where dancers will compete for a chance to win a $300 gift card to Second Skin Shop. Spectator tickets are $10 and available by cash or check at the door.
