UPAWS launches 2027 Pet Photo Calendar contest
MARQUETTE — The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is inviting pet lovers to show off their furry, feathered, or scaled family members in the UPAWS 2027 Pet Photo Calendar Contest.
Pet owners can now enter photos of their pets for a chance to be featured in the 2027 UPAWS Pet Photo Calendar while helping raise funds for local homeless animals. The contest is open to all pets. Entries are $10 per photo and will be accepted through June 30. Public voting begins July 1 and continues through July 31, with each vote costing $1.
The top vote-getters will earn featured spots in the calendar, including dogs, cats and other companion animals. Every photo receiving at least five votes will be included somewhere in the calendar.
Participants can also:
• Reserve a special date for their pet with a Reserve-a-Day square
• Purchase Rainbow Bridge Memorial tributes to honor beloved pets who have passed away
• Support the contest through business sponsorship opportunities
“The Pet Photo Calendar has become one of our favorite annual fundraisers because it celebrates the special bond people share with their pets while helping animals in need right here in our community,” said Ann Brownell, Community Outreach & Volunteer coordinator at UPAWS.
The contest serves as one of UPAWS’ largest annual fundraisers, helping provide food, shelter, medical care, enrichment, and second chances for homeless animals throughout the Upper Peninsula.
All proceeds benefit the animals cared for by UPAWS.
