MARQUETTE — For many lovers of the northwoods, spending a quit evening along the shores of a tree-lined lake in a snug little log cabin is only a dream. Later this summer, however, that dream will come true for “campers” who head to Harlow Lake in the Little Presque Isle state Recreation Area north of Marquette. Construction there on six rustic cabins is expected to be complete soon. They should be ready for occupancy about Aug 1, said Dennis Nizich, area forest manager for the state Department of Natural Resources Forest Management Division at the Ishpeming field station. A reservation system is being set up for the cabins, which will rent for about $35 per night. A reduced weekly rate will be offered. Development of the Little Presque Isle tract has been incremental since the DNR acquired the 3,040 acres in 1979 in a hand exchange with Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Company.
