Silver Creek Food Pantry now open
HARVEY — The Silver Creek Community Pantry is now open to the public and available to anyone in need of food assistance. Recently expanded to better serve the community, the pantry remains located at Silver Creek Church, 219 Silver Creek Road in Harvey. While the pantry was previously housed within Silver Creek Thrift, it continues to operate from the church following the thrift store’s move to its new location at 190 W. Wright Place in Harvey.
The pantry operates as a client-choice pantry, allowing individuals and families to select the food items that best meet their needs. The Silver Creek Community Pantry is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on the third Wednesday of each month from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Visitors should enter through the church doors located beneath the canopy entrance.
The Silver Creek Community Pantry is an outreach ministry of Silver Creek Church and Silver Creek Thrift. Community members who would like to support the pantry may donate non-perishable, unexpired food items. Donations can be dropped off at Silver Creek Church Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at Silver Creek Thrift Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Additional support can be provided by rounding up purchases at Silver Creek Thrift or by making a donation to Feeding America West Michigan and designating the Silver Creek Community Pantry as the recipient.
Through the partnership of Silver Creek Church, Silver Creek Thrift, community supporters and local organizations, the pantry seeks to ensure that neighbors facing food insecurity have access to nutritious food and compassionate support.
