One injured in Chocolay Township crash

HARVEY — At approximately 9:45 a.m.on Friday, Chocolay Township Police Department officers were dispatched to US 41 South near the Snyder Drugstore for a two-car personal injury crash.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that four vehicles were involved. Officers had to stop northbound traffic until further responders from the Chocolay Township Fire Department, Michigan Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division, Marquette Police Department and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office arrived. One male was transported to UP Health System-Marquette for non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon finishing the investigation CTPD was able to determine that a black Toyota pickup exited the Snyder’s driveway turning south onto US 41. The Toyota struck a black GMC Pickup that was pulling a trailer. After striking the trailer the Toyota then entered oncoming traffic where it first struck a box truck which was traveling north. After striking the box truck, the Toyota struck a northbound motor home which caused substantial damage to both vehicles.
