Habitat’s First Annual Pride Build set
MARQUETTE — Marquette County Habitat for Humanity will host its First Annual Pride Build on June 19-20, 2026, inviting volunteers from across the community to come together in support of affordable housing, inclusion and equitable access to safe housing.
The two-day volunteer event will take place from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. each day at Habitat build sites located on Van Epps and Fairbanks in Harvey. Pride Build celebrates community, service and the belief that everyone deserves a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home.
While housing affordability continues to be a challenge for many families, research shows that LGBTQ+ individuals and other marginalized communities often face additional barriers to securing safe and stable housing, including discrimination, economic disparities, and increased risk of housing instability. Pride Build recognizes these challenges while bringing people together around a shared commitment to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and welcoming home.
Volunteers of all experience levels are welcome to participate, and no prior construction experience is necessary. Participants will work alongside Habitat staff, and fellow community volunteers on active home construction projects benefiting local families in Marquette County.
A suggested donation of $25 helps support Habitat’s mission and includes a Habitat T-shirt for participants. Lunch will also be provided each day.
Community members, businesses and organizations are encouraged to register and participate. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to work on site.
