Zoom session on energy emergency set

MARQUETTE — Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, along with policy and energy experts Courtney Brady and Douglas Jester, will host a webinar addressing the two emerging stories surrounding energy in the U.S. and how the administration is putting our clean energy future at stake.

Expect to hear answers to questions like:

• Two very different energy emergency narratives are playing out; how did we get here?

• In an era of escalating executive orders surrounding fossil fuel energy, what are the impacts?

• How can we meet our energy needs and goals with clean energy technologies?

Two competing “energy emergency” narratives are unfolding in real time. While the federal government continues to justify expanded fossil fuel production in the name of national security, a very real crisis is taking shape. The targeted rollback of clean energy is undermining the American economy, threatening good-paying jobs, and weakening grid resilience and security. This webinar hosted by the Great Lakes Business Network will unpack these competing claims, separate fact from rhetoric, and highlight practical, affordable solutions to meet rising energy demand.

WHEN: Noon-1 p.m. Eastern, Thursday, May 7, expert remarks with Q&A to follow. Organizers will first take questions from attendees and then shift to questions from the media.
