US-2 resurfacing project in Dickinson, Menominee
 counties starts May 11

POWERS — The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing about $3.4 million to resurface approximately 10.5 miles of US-2 from west of the US-2/US-41 intersection in the village of Powers to west of the Dickinson/Menominee county line.

The project will extend the lifespan of the roadway and increase safety for motorists. It will include asphalt base crushing, shaping and resurfacing; joint repairs; paver placed surface seal and pavement markings. The work includes a five-year materials and workmanship pavement warranty and a three-year pavement performance warranty.

The project will start May 11 and is expected to conclude in late August.
Motorists should expect single-lane closures with traffic regulators.

Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 29 jobs.

Starting at $3.23/week.
