MARQUETTE — UP Health System-Marquette has brought in Christopher Omerza, MD, to its surgical services team. Dr. Omerza specializes in general surgery, including robotic and minimally invasive surgery, hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, colorectal disease, breast disease, endoscopy and trauma and acute care surgery.

Dr. Omerza earned his doctor of medicine from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He earned a bachelor of arts in biochemistry from Albion College.

“The UP is a beautiful place with incredible access to the outdoors and a great community,” Omerza said in a hospital news release. “My wife and I have been looking for an opportunity to return ever since graduating from Michigan State University’s Upper Peninsula campus.”

Outside of work, Dr. Omerza enjoys hiking, biking and snowboarding.
