MARQUETT E– Because the new county airport, now undergoing considerable construction under a WPA project, is considered “unsafe” for “anything but straight flying,” the air show to be staged tomorrow by three Lansing aviators will be held at the Green Garden port, eight miles southeast of Marquette on US-41. The change of location will not force a revision of the program, however, and all events will be staged as announced, the airmen said yesterday. Beginning with a mass aerial parade over Marquette, Ishpeming and Negaunee at 1 p.m. The Green Garden airport, the pilots said, is ideal for their purpose. There is more auto parking space than on the new county field and the runways are in good condition. Work on the new airport will not be completed until sometime in July, WPA officials announced.
