NEGAUNEE — A dessert and fashion show event is planned at the Negaunee Senior Center at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Dessert will be served first followed by a style show featuring fashions from Pamida. A $3 donation is being requested. The Negaunee Senior Center is at 410 Jackson St.

MARQUETTE — Employees of the Marquette Public Works and Parks and Recreation departments are in the process of removing approximately 40 Lombardy poplar trees which line Lake Shore Boulevard, from the Marquette Skeet Club range, north to the Lake Superior & Ishpeming Railroad Co. dock. The removal of the tress is required in order to prepare Lake Shore Boulevard for widening and resurfacing, which will be done in July.
