M-64 culvert project in Gogebic County starts Tuesday
BERGLAND — The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing about $3.4 million to replace a box culvert on M-64 over Bingham Creek in Gogebic County. The project, on M-64, will include shoulder widening, guardrail and pavement markings.
Overall, this project will replace a structure that has reached the end of its useful service life with a larger concrete culvert, extending the lifespan of the roadway and increasing safety for motorists. Work will start Tuesday and is expected to conclude Oct. 21. Motorists should expect single-lane closures with temporary traffic signals.
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 29 jobs.
