Health foundation grant window now open
MARQUETTE — The West End Health Foundation opened the application window for its Proactive Grant funding on Thursday, May 1. Applications must be submitted by noon on June 1 through the online portal at westendhf.org/grants.
Proactive Grant funding is awarded to select nonprofit organizations that provide programs and services benefiting residents of Marquette County’s West End community. The 2026 grant cycle will prioritize initiatives that address food security, supporting efforts that improve access to reliable, nutritious food.
Each year, the Proactive Grant program focuses on a specific health-related theme to support targeted, high-impact initiatives within the community. Grant awards typically range from $1,000 to $10,000, with up to $50,000 in total funding available, depending on available resources.
“Food security continues to be an important need in our West End communities,” said Kori Bjorne, secretary of the West End Health Foundation. “Through this year’s Proactive Grant cycle, we are prioritizing efforts that strengthen access to nutritious food and support organizations working to meet that need in meaningful, sustainable ways.”
