MARQUETTE – Effective on Friday, “No turns on red” signs will be posted for southbound traffic on North Front Street at Washington Street, Marquette Police said in a press release. Police urge motorists to use caution at this intersection until drivers become familiar with the new signs.

MARQUETTE – Something new in the way of entertainment will be featured during the Amateur Hour at the Palestra tonight. Patrons who attend will see the cathode ray oscillograph which shows electrically how music and voice frequencies look. It is a modern instrument of science that visualizes electrical current. The Amateur Hour is between 11 and 11:30. Freck Wilson’s orchestra will play for the dancing from 9:30 to 1 o’clock.
