M-28 project in Baraga, Houghton counties begins May 11
BARAGA — On May 11, the Michigan Department of Transportation will begin a $7.2 million project to resurface more than 21 miles of M-28 in Baraga and Houghton counties, from the Houghton/Ontonagon county line to Leo South Road.
The project includes asphalt overlay, cold milling, culvert repair work, storm sewer repairs, guardrail, concrete curb, sidewalk ramps and pavement markings.
Motorists should expect single-lane closures with traffic regulators, and the project is estimated to end in late October.
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 61 jobs
