LWV session on tap

MKARQUETTE — The League of Women Voters of Marquette County, a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, will hold its next general membership meeting at 6:45-8:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 6.

Social time begins at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the George Shiras III Room on the second floor of Peter White Public Library, 217 N. Front St., Marquette.

In its Barriers to Voting series, this meeting will feature Chocolay Township Clerk Max Engle who will talk about the proof of citizenship bills before Congress and the Michigan Legislature. A Q&A will follow the discussion.
