ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming Rotary Club recently held their annual fundraiser at the Northern Center at Northern Michigan University in February. The event was entitled, “Sport’s FAN-demonium,” this featured a meal, game show, and other fundraising actives, where attendees dressed in their favorite sport teams’ attire.
“This year’s event was a great success and brought in record funds for the club, over $13,000. These funds are critical to our club and its ability to do the good works in the west end of Marquette County”, Nate Heffron, club president said.
Ishpeming Rotary is transitioning to smaller projects on the west end, with a focus their volunteering through their Simple Service Program. Service that is easy to join and meaningful to give. Meeting real needs through small, consistent acts that anyone can take part in.
“We are very thankful for all the businesses, organizations, and individuals that have supported our fundraiser thought out our existence. Without their support we would not be able to do what we have”, Heffron said.
The Ishpeming Rotary Club meets weekly from 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays. Twice a month at the River Rock Lanes in Ishpeming, once a month at newly opened business or other offsite location to learn more about the community and once a month for a social gathering at a restaurant.
