SAULT STE. MARIE — Great Lakes Orbit, an initiative of the Great Lakes Space Alliance in partnership with the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation and Headwaters North, is coming to Sault Ste. Marie on April 22 and will include speakers, panels, workshops and conversations focused on the future of the space economy in the Great Lakes region.

The daylong event will explore topics ranging from Space 101 and national activity at NASA and the Department of Defense to workforce development, startup growth and how Michigan can take part in the emerging space sector. Organizers say the event will help connect the region’s advanced manufacturing, research and innovation strengths to new opportunities in space.
