Bat study coming up
MARQUETTE — A brief natural history of bats, with notes on species native to the Upper Peninsula is set for 6 p.m. Friday, May 1, at MooseWood Nature Center in Marquette.
Northern Michigan University instructor Hans Otto will present an overview of bat biology and behavior focusing on species in the family vespertilionidae, methods and materials used in bat research (acoustic detectors, mist nets, banding, radio telemetry, etc.), bat research and conservation and the current status of white-nose syndrome.
