Aspirus Iron River hosts April Wisdom & Wellness session focused on esophageal cancer awareness
IRON RIVER – Aspirus Iron River Hospital & Clinics invites community members to the next installment of its Wisdom & Wellness education series, taking place from 2-3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at the Aspirus Iron River Café.
April is recognized nationally as Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month, making this session especially timely and valuable. Attendees will hear from Aspirus General Surgeon, Dr. Medhat Fanous, who will lead an informative discussion on esophageal cancer risk factors, early signs and symptoms, prevention, and advancements in diagnosis and treatment. The presentation will be followed by an opportunity for Q&A.
This free community education session is part of Aspirus Iron River’s ongoing commitment to promote health, awareness, and wellness through accessible public programming.
The session will be presented by Dr. Medhat Fanous, general surgeon at Aspirus Health and David Lorensen, manager of surgical services at Aspirus Iron River Hospital & Clinics. The presenters will provide an overview of general surgery services offered at Aspirus Iron River and explain how these programs support patients at various stages of gut and esophageal health.
The Wisdom & Wellness series brings community members together to hear from trusted healthcare professionals, ask questions, and gain practical tools to support better health. The goal is simple: to talk about what matters most–your health.
This event is free of charge, but registration is requested. To reserve your spot, please call 906-265-0402. Light refreshments will be provided.
