GWINN — The 906 Chapter of State Employee Retirees Association will hold a luncheon meeting at the UP North event center in Gwinn at noon on Monday, May 11.

Featured on the program will be Zach Holloway of Blue Cross Blue Shield, the administrator of retiree health benefits for State of Michigan retirees and attorney John Yonkers who will advise retirees on elder law concerns in current days.

Reservations need to be made with Edgar Sommers II at 906-250-5560 by May 3. All state of Michigan retirees are welcome at the meeting and luncheon for which the cost is $20. Chapter 906 members may pay annual dues of $20 at the meeting.

The group will also be accepting nominations for three openings which will occur at the end of 2026 for the board of directors. 906 SERA represents all State of Michigan retirees, both defined benefit and defined contribution, in dealing with the State of Michigan in retirement concerns and health care.

906 SERA first year membership is often provided by Hantz Financial, which will make a short presentation at the meeting.
