Public art landscape presented
MARQUETTE — The Marquette Public Art Commission has approved the design for a new landscape-based public art installation and is presenting it to the community for review and public comment. The landscape-based public art design is planned within Marquette Lions Lakeside Park as a public gathering space and functional outdoor extension of the future City Cultural Trailhead (501 S. Front St.).
Funded entirely through private donations and grant support, the public art landscape is made possible by a gift from the Eiben Family. The project will be an aesthetic enhancement to the exterior accessible pathway improvements at the new City Cultural Trailhead, which are funded through a Michigan Department of Natural Resources SPARK Grant.
Project design and details are posted online: https://mqtcompass.com/blog/cultural- trail/public-art-landscape/ Comments may be submitted by email to City Arts & Culture Manager Tiina Morin or as public comment during the MPAC Special Meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25. The meeting will be held in the Peter White Public Library Lions Club Room, 217 N. Front St., Marquette.
Comments will be collected until noon on Thursday, March 5 .
