Baraga County chamber announces scholarship opportunities

BARAGA — The Baraga County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for its annual $750 one’time scholarships, available to Baraga County high school graduates pursuing education or training beyond high school.

Eligible applicants include graduating seniors from Baraga High School, L’Anse High School and any Baraga County resident completing their senior year through alternative programs, including L’Anse’Baraga Alternative Education, homeschooling or High School Equivalency pathways.

“We want to support students who are ready to take the next step toward building their skills and preparing for the workforce,” said Danielle Reeves of the chamber’s Scholarship Committee. “An investment in education now may lead to an investment in Baraga County’s future.”

Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Keweenaw Bay and Beyond Mix and Mingle on April 17 at the L’Anse Golf Club. Proceeds from this event support the chamber’s ongoing scholarship program and the public is encouraged to attend. Both college enrollment and trade or technical training programs qualify as appropriate post’secondary plans for applicants. The deadline to apply is March 21.

Interested students may obtain applications through their schools, by contacting the chamber at baragachamberoperations@gmail.com or 906’353’8808 or by applying electronically via the link posted on the Baraga County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.

Starting at $3.23/week.
