MARQUETTE– In an effort to aid economic expansion in the Upper Peninsula, CellularOne is offering free phones and services to new businesses. Cellular phones, including a year of unlimited airtime and access, will be offered to new firms as part of a nationwide plan to help spur growth in PriCellular Corp’s service areas. An undetermined number of new jobs must be created to qualify for the offer. Nationally, PriCelluar Corps., parent company of CellularOne of the U.P., requires that at least 40 new jobs be created to receive the phone and service, but that number is expected to be smaller in the U.P.
