MRHC seeks nominations for awards

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Regional History Center is asking for nominations for the Helen Longyear Paul Award, given to recognize individuals and the Peter White Award which honors foundations, companies, organizations and institutions. Both recognize exceptional effort in the enhancement, restoration, conservation or interpretation of the history of the area.

Marquette County has a rich history and cultural heritage that inspires many to interpret, preserve and share it. As a historical institution, the MRHC recognizes those efforts and promotes the achievements of people and organizations making history today. The center began this awards program in 1984.

Nominations should be in your own words, reflecting the nominee’s contribution to local history. Please drop off your award nominations at the Museum during regular operational hours, by 5 p.m. Feb. 6. Award winners will be announced during the MRHC  Annual Meeting on Feb. 25. For more information, call 906-226-3571 or email mrhc@marquettehistory.org.

Starting at $3.23/week.
