Hillsdale College students give presentations on physics research experiences
HILLSDALE — Six Hillsdale College students who completed physics-related internships or Research Experiences for Undergraduates this past summer shared their experiences with fellow students during physics seminars on campus.
“Research experience is an essential part of education in the sciences,” said Paul Hosmer, chairman and associate professor of physics. “The interdisciplinary perspective provided by Hillsdale’s core curriculum, the hands-on experience offered through our physics program, and the support of their professors, prepare our students well for the exciting challenge of scientific research.”
Funded by the National Science Foundation, the Research Experiences for Undergraduates program enables college and university students to conduct research at host institutions, typically during the summer, while receiving mentoring and learning about opportunities in STEM fields.
