New airline service locally
MARQUETTE — Travel Marquette has announced that beginning May 21, travelers will have new, convenient access to the Upper Peninsula when United Airlines launches three daily direct flights between Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport.
“We’re thrilled to welcome this new United Airlines service, strengthening Marquette’s connection to one of the country’s major travel hubs,” says Susan Estler, CEO of Travel Marquette. “This route will provide new opportunity for visitors to discover our recreational offerings, Lake Superior shoreline, thriving arts community and the welcoming spirit that makes Marquette such a special place to explore year-round.”
Operated on a Bombardier CRJ-550 aircraft, the new service enhances connectivity to one of the Midwest’s most scenic four-season destinations, offering easier access for leisure travelers, outdoor enthusiasts and event-goers eager to experience the natural environment, local culture and signature adventures that define Marquette County.
This new flight service supports the growing demand for convenient, reliable air travel in the Upper Peninsula and reflects United Airlines’ commitment to connecting smaller communities with major global markets.
“We’re thrilled to welcome United Airlines to Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport,” said David Erhart, airport manager. “This partnership expands travel options for our residents and visitors while strengthening the economic vitality of our region.”
