Winter skies over Lake Antoine Park will come alive with color and motion on Saturday, Jan. 10, as Lake Antoine Park Partners hosts its fifth annual “Kites Over Awesome Lake Antoine (K.O.A.L.A.)” from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (Central Time) at Lake Antoine Park, 3391 Quinnesec Ave., Iron Mountain. This four-hour community event combines the excitement of show kites and precision flying teams with plenty of hands-on activities designed for families who want to get outside, stay active and enjoy a classic Upper Peninsula winter day. Visitors can rotate through a lineup of fun, low-pressure “play stations,” including the Bubble Zone, Snowball Target Toss, Frisbee Toss, giant Tic Tac Toe and Community Mural.
