2% money supports dental health

MARQUETTE — The Marquette County Health Department’s Maternal Infant Health Program received $750 from 2% funding from the Keweenaw bay Indian Community Tribal Council in November. These funds will be used to purchase infant, toddler, child and adult toothbrushes for MIHP families served throughout Marquette County, supporting healthy habits and preventive oral care from an early age.

In addition, $500 was awarded to support the Marquette County Community Baby Shower. This annual event is made possible through the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of community partners like KBIC. The baby shower provides essential items and resources to expecting and new families, while also offering encouragement, education, and strong sense of community connection.

KBIC’s generous support directly impacts young families and our tiniest citizens, helping them feel cared for and valued while reinforcing the importance of a supportive and compassionate community.

Starting at $3.23/week.
