Michigan Finance Authority earns national award
MARQUETTE – The Michigan Finance Authority has received a national award for excellence in financial reporting for the 10th consecutive year, according to the Michigan Department of Treasury.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the authority for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2024.
The certificate is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. It is awarded to government entities that meet rigorous standards for transparency, clarity and completeness in their financial disclosures.
For Michiganders, the award signals that the state is managing public resources responsibly and transparently. It assures residents that the financial decisions made by the authority are well-documented, independently reviewed and aligned with best practices in public finance.
