Fresh Coast Beauty launches women’s hygiene kit donation drive
MARQUETTE — Fresh Coast Beauty is launching a community donation drive to assemble and distribute women’s hygiene kits to local residents in need, in response to the cancellation of SNAP benefits.
“With so many families already struggling to make ends meet, the loss of food assistance will make it even harder for some to afford basic personal care products,” said Jessica Mariin, owner of Fresh Coast Beauty. “Women’s hygiene products are not a luxury — they’re a necessity. We want to do our part to make sure no one in our community has to go without.”
Each kit will include essential items such as tampons, pads, panty liners, wipes, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, dental floss, soap, wash cloths, lotion and other personal care products. Shampoo and conditioner will be provided by Fresh Coast Beauty and the salon is seeking donations of menstrual care products, toiletries, and toiletry bags or pouches to help meet community needs.
Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Fresh Coast Beauty/Superior Salon & Spa salon entrance, located at 780 Commerce Drive, Suite A, directly across from the Marquette County Fire Department. A contactless drop-off area is available for convenience and safety. There is also an Amazon wish list link on the Fresh Coast Beauty webpage www.freshcoastbeauty.com.
