Fire and Ice, A Michigan Geology Tour on tap
MARQUETTE — At 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Community Room Peter White Public Library in Marquette, Fire and Ice, A Michigan Geology Tour is planned.
Today, Michigan is a state full of flat farmland, rolling hills, jagged cliffs and everything in-between – and all together, those different landscapes tell a story that stretches back billions of years. It’s a tale about how Michigan has changed throughout the eons and by learning it, you’ll start to realize that every rock you see around has a story of its own.
Science writer Alexis Dahl will take you on a tour of Michigan’s geology, in the characteristic style from her Michigan-centric series on YouTube. Afterwards, there will be time for questions and answers.
The suggested donations are $5 per adult and $10 per family.
