Baraga chamber launches 2025 Small Business Season: Every purchase has a purpose

L’ANSE — The Baraga County Chamber of Commerce has announced the launch of its 2025 Small Business Season, a county-wide celebration honoring local businesses that keep our economy strong. Running Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, this year’s campaign carries the inspiring message: Every purchase has a purpose.

Supporting local businesses creates a ripple effect. Research shows that for every $100 spent at a local business, $68 stays in the community–fueling jobs, infrastructure and essential services. By comparison, only $43 remains when shopping at national chains.

“Small Business Season reminds us that local choices have a lasting impact. Every dollar spent here strengthens our community, supports our neighbors, and builds the future we all share,” said chamber representative Dianne Koskinen.

To bring Small Business Season to life, the chamber is launching a Shop Local Card Program. Shoppers can record the businesses they visit on a special card and return it to the Chamber office to be entered into prize drawings. Cards are available by emailing baragachamberoffice@gmail.com or by picking one up from the display case outside the chamber building.

The chamber will also host a warming center at its office, located at 1 N. Main St., in L’Anse, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 (traditionally Small Business Saturday). Guests are invited to stop in for refreshments, receive a complimentary shopping bag and enter drawings for door prizes.

The Baraga County Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to join in celebrating Small Business Season by supporting the shops and services that make our community thrive.

Starting at $3.23/week.
