Negaunee to host Witches Night Out
NEGAUNEE — Negaunee’s Downtown Development Authority has announced its first ever Witches Night Out, which will be held in November.
The idea for Witches Night Out is the collaborative effort of local businesses and the DDA to create a Ladies Night Out-esque event similar to other communities in the county. From 4 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 15, businesses in downtown Negaunee will be hosting activities including specials, games and discounts for ladies to stop in and enjoy.
The main event of the night will also include a scavenger hunt, where participating local businesses will each have a “potion ingredient” that needs to be gathered, encouraging ladies and their friends to visit multiple places. The ingredients can then be “combined” into a potion that will be turned in at Strega Nonna, located at 432 Iron Street, for a chance to win the Irontown Proud gift basket.
“This is a fun play on a less traditional Ladies’ Night Out. We wanted to be different and catchy. We didn’t want to do the same thing everyone else is doing,” said Negaunee City Manager Nate Heffron in a press release.
The gift basket winner will be announced after 8 p.m., and a drag show will close out the night beginning at 8:30 p.m.
The DDA invites all ladies to come out and have some fun in Irontown, also encouraging them to dress up in anything as simple as a witch’s hat or a full transformation. Parking is limited, but brooms are permitted.
