Home tours to be conducted
ISHPEMING– On Sunday, Sept. 28, the Ishpeming Area Historical Society will host a bus tour of the elegant Sam and Evelyn Cohodas English Tudor Revival style, 4,300 square foot home which was completed in 1943 and located within the city of Ishpeming.
Also on the tour will be the recently restored and legendary Cohodas Lodge which sits on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigamme. The Cohodas Lodge was originally completed in 1935 and was used as a venue for business associate meetings, family gatherings and as a summer home. Refreshments, wine, sparkling water, cheese and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Transportation will be provided by Checker Bus and will depart the Cliffs Shaft Museum parking lot (located at 501 W. Euclid St., Ishpeming) at 1 p.m. and will return by 5 p.m. This tour is a fundraiser for the Ishpeming Area Historical Society with a ticket price of $150. Tickets may be purchased over the phone at 906-486-8680 or in person prior to the tour, from Main Street Antique Mall (121 S. Main St., Ishpeming).
Event organizers ask that attendees arrive at least 15 minutes early for bus loading.
