NEGAUNEE — The Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee Township will relive the early days of Marquette at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20 with a presentation of “Amos Harlow, His Life, His Family, and His Times” in the museum auditorium. Through costumes, sliders, and dramatic readings, Marquette County teachers Gretchen and Blaine Betts, and Garlow descendant David Clark, will tell the story of the founder of the City of Marquette. The program will be followed by a pie social on the museum grounds and costumed interpretation by The Future Historians, including music and lawn games of croquet and rounders for children of all ages. Admission is free.

MARQUETTE — Capt. David H. McClintock (USN-ret.), recently appointed assistant to the vice president for business and finance at Northern Michigan University, has assumed his new duties on campus, Dr. Edgar L. Harden, president of Northern announced today. McClintock comes to Northern from Washington, D.C. where he was director of the Department of National Strategy at the National War College. He is the son of Wayne B. McClintock, who served Northern for 34 years as teacher and administrator before his retirement in 1949. The industrial arts wing of the university’s Fine and Practical Arts building is named after McClintock Senior.
