Second round of M-26 repairs in Houghton set to start Monday
HOUGHTON — A second round of emergency repairs on M-26 south of Canal Road in Houghton is planned to begin Monday, Aug. 25.
Contractors for the Michigan Department of Transportation will be re-lining and partially replacing a damaged culvert, performing concrete paving and curb work. The project is expected to be completed in about six weeks.
A storm sewer, culvert and pavement on M-26 were damaged by excessive storm runoff after heavy rain in July.
Motorists should expect lane closures with traffic shifts. Crews plan to keep at least one lane open in each direction on M-26 during repairs.
