MARQUETTE — Dr. Frank Farbod of the Facial Surgery Institute in Marquette has been appointed to serve on the national Committee on Rules & Procedure for the House of Delegates of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.

He is also 1 of 15 out of 9,000 surgeons nationwide appointed to serve on the National organization Committee on Healthcare Policy, which is involved in ensuring patients have access to care they need.

He is finishing his term as immediate past president of the Michigan Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons this year, with the first female president being elected during his tenure.

Dr. Farbod founded and has served at Facial Surgery Institute in Marquette, having treated patients from across the Upper Peninsula and surrounding areas. The practice specializes in wisdom teeth removal, dental implants and oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures.
