Public art installation Thursday
MARQUETTE — The public is invited to the unveiling of “Now You See Us,” a new public art installation, at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26, on the south side of the old Delft Theatre building (West Main Street in downtown Marquette).
This community-driven installation features black-and-white portraits of everyday individuals, our neighbors, friends and fellow Marquette residents, many of whom have gone unseen in local media. “Now You See Us” honors their presence, their stories and their contributions to the life of our city.
This project is part of the global Inside Out Project, an international participatory art movement founded by artist JR, which provides individuals with a platform to share their voices and create powerful public art. Since its launch in 2011, Inside Out has reached over 570,000 participants across more than 150 countries.
