NFD extinguishes fire
NEGAUNEE — At approximately 7:13 p.m. Monday, the Negaunee City Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from the area of Wenonah and Nakomis streets.
Upon arriving on scene, crews were able to determine the source of the smoke was actually coming from the north side of Teal Lake in the woods, off the trail. Crews were able to locate a fire approximately 2 feet by 2 feet in size and extinguished the fire.
The Negaunee City Fire Department would like to remind the public that the Michigan DNR currently has the fire danger listed as very high to extreme throughout the Upper Peninsula, and asks that everyone use caution. The Negaunee City Fire Department would like to thank Marquette County Central Dispatch for their assistance.
