“We opened March 22 so this has been going for about a month and a half now,” said Lake Effect Co. Owner Aubrey Remenec. “It has been great… Its a work in progress but it is coming together.”

Sell vintage apparel, handmade goods, as well as some newer clothing options as well.

“I also offer consignment,” said Remenec. “So people can bring in their preloved and vintage clothes and sell it to me. Then if I choose to buy it I offer them a price. If I don’t they can choose to take the clothes back or I can donate it to the women’s shelter.”

The price offered for these items varies depending on the item and quality, but all manner of apparel can be accepted from shoes, scarves, shirts, jackets, glasses and any other clothing item.

“I love the idea of keeping clothes out of the landfill,” said Remenec. “Apparel is the number one thing in landfills right now and if we can extend their lifespan by reselling, a lot of people I know are more keen on thrift stores and thrifting, but it is still a huge issue.”
