What’s New at Peter White Public Library
Our Library is buzzing with excitement as we gear up for the Summer Reading programs starting this June! And guess what? We’ve added some awesome new sensory tools just for our youngest library visitors to enjoy during their time here.
Need help keeping track of reading time? We’ve got a handy visual timer that’s perfect for kids–and even helpful for parents when it’s time to wrap things up (we know how hard it is to leave a place full of books and fun!). We also now offer noise-canceling headphones to make library visits or programs a little more comfortable for those who prefer a quieter space. And for extra coziness, we have a weighted lap blanket to help calm wiggles and promote relaxation while you explore everything our Youth Department has to offer.
Be sure to stop by the children’s desk to check out these great new tools–we can’t wait to see you this summer!
Another thing that has us buzzing and puzzling on the main floor of the Library–just outside the Huron Mountain Gallery — is our ever-popular (and ever-growing!) puzzle table, stocked with plenty of puzzles for you to take home and enjoy!
Feel free to bring one to donate and swap for a new one or simply pick one up after checking out your books at the circulation desk. It’s the perfect cozy activity while the weather is deciding between spring and summer. Stop by and find your next favorite puzzle!
While you’re here be sure to check out another gem of our main floor; the Friends of the Library Used Bookstore–lovingly stocked every day by our amazing Friends of the Library volunteers! They work hard to fill the shelves with gently used books for all kinds of readers, young and old alike.
Whether you’re into ancient history, modern-day thrillers, cozy mysteries, or the latest bestsellers, there’s always a treasure waiting to be discovered. So next time you’re at the Library, be sure to swing by the bookstore–you’re sure to find something you’ll love!
