Superiorland Yesterdays

MARQUETTE – Tim Lutey, used car manager for Choice/Advantage Auto Group in Marquette, donated a 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo to be raffled during the Marquette Senior High School All Night Party, sponsored by Project Graduation for the senior class and held next Thursday from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the Superior Dome.

BARAGA – Members of the agriculture class of Baraga Township High School spent Tuesday in the school forest planting trees. The 15 members planted 1,000 Norway pine trees under the direction of Roy Skog, extension forester; Fred Biekola, county extension agent; and A.M. Kujansuu, instructor. The students also learned about other practices carried on with the forest resource. Trees have been planted in this school forest since 1942. About 30,000 trees have been started 23 years.
