NEGAUNEE – Bastian Booger, a.k.a. Mike Shaw of Skandia, will headline a professional wrestling card here Friday night at Lakeview Memorial Gymnasium. Booger will challenged “Punisher” Rock Stevens for the North American Heavyweight Championship title belt. Four additional bouts are on the card and all proceeds from the wrestling extravaganza will benefit Teaching Family Homes and AM 970, Marquette’s new rock alternative.

TOIVOLA – A white porcupine, a rarity in the Copper Country, proved quite an attraction when found near the post office in Toivola. The albino was a frisky fellow, according to report from Leonard Pennanen, postmaster. It apparently had no problem of reduced eyesight such as is common with albino animals. When last heard from, the porcupine was content to take it easy on a diet of bark at the Rick Haryrynen residence just outside Toivola.
