Memorial Day prep volunteers needed
ISHPEMING — West end veterans organizations are asking for volunteers to help place American flags on all veteran’s graves in preparation for the Memorial Day ceremony. The placement time is from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, 22 May, at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
Because Deer Lake Road along the cemetery is under construction, we will meet at the sexton’s office/shop at the northwest corner of the cemetery. Access to the cemetery will be gained from the west end of Poplar Street.
It is helpful to bring along a pair of pliers to pull the old flag shafts out of the holders.
