906 SERA to meet
GWINN — 906 SERA (State Employee Retirees Association) of the Upper Peninsula will meet at noon on Monday, May 19 at the Up North Event Center in Gwinn.
The main speaker for the session will be Civil Service Benefits division director Bethany Beauchine. Also present will be representatives of Blue Cross/Blue Shield, the Medical and Mental health insurance provider for retirees. This will be the final meeting at which Arva Overton will represent the Blues as she is retiring. She will introduce her successor, Kelsy Sawdy.
906 SERA represents the approximately 3,000 state of Michigan retirees that live in the Upper Peninsula. These retirees are from the Departments of Natural Resources, Corrections, Health and Human Services and Transportation for the most part, but include retirees from all branches and departments of state government.
All state of Michigan retirees are welcome to attend the meeting which will begin at noon with a luncheon. Reservations are necessary and can be made by telephone with Edgar SDommers II at 906-250-5560 by noon Monday, May 12. The cost of the meal for the meeting is $20, payable at the door.
