Partridge Creek Farm seeking donations for community garden site

ISHPEMING — With Giving Tuesday approaching on Dec. 3, Partridge Creek Farm is seeking community monetary donations to help purchase one of its community garden sites.

The site is located at Euclid Street and First Street near downtown Ishpeming, featuring 24 raised beds that are annually rented to families interested in growing their own produce and learning about gardening. The site property is currently leased by PCF, and they are not at risk of losing the site, but are interested in purchasing the property so they can continue ensuring food access to the Ishpeming community.

PCF currently has a $5,000 donation goal, and any donations past that amount will be used for various projects that maintain their six gardens. Partridge Creek Compost will also be present to talk about composting and answer questions.

“This is a truly essential space for our community,” said PCF’s Community Food Access Manager Danielle Sidor, who oversees the Community Garden, in a press release, “Your support will allow us to continue growing and cultivating this essential resource for years to come.”

Donations can be delivered to PCF team members at Velodrome on Giving Tuesday, online at their website, or mailed to PO Box 4, Ishpeming MI 49849.
