MARQUETTE — The Golden Eagles of the Superiorland Soccer League’s strikers’ division took first place during regular season play, and placed second in the fall tournament. The squad’s overall record was 9-2-1. Team members for the season are Kris Danielson, John Glenn Carstens, Fabio Bournique, Matt Tebo, Duncan Miller, Brad Beck, Rickey Holmes, Mike Michelson, Renae Thompson, Adam Dameworth, Erica Gorsalitz, Jamie Johnson, Laura Meister, Joey Henderson, and Lindsey Johnson. Al Beck is the Golden Eagles coach.

GWINN — When Sally Nordeen began looking through a book of page designs from outstanding school yearbooks, the last thing she expected to see was a photograph of someone she knew. Miss Nordeen, Gwinn High School yearbook editor, discovered that her school is represented in a book that has been distributed to thousands of high schools throughout the country. Taylor Publshing Co., Dallas, Tex., has reprinted six pages from the 1962 Gwinner to include in a collection of what it considers good ideas. Pages selected were the administrative division “spread” — two pages showing Superintendent William Garrett, Principal Henry Sherry, and Assistant Principal Donald Wachter studying plans of the new high school; two pages from the basketball section featuring the Gwinn-Munising game; and two pages from the faculty-staff section. Student editors of the 1962 book were Phyllis Hocking and Susan Mussatto; Tom Rood was faculty advisor.
