MARQUETTE — Dr. Yan Ciupak will discuss the latest understanding of grief and introduce her holistic spiral model of grieving and healing.

This model synthesizes and advances existing grief theories, offering a middle-way approach for professionals, individuals, and communities to navigate the grieving journey.

Dr. Ciupak’s approach is encapsulated in the 4A4C framework, which encompasses eight key factors to enable healing: awareness, acceptance, affirmation, actualization, compassion, connection, composure and commitment.

The presentation will feature mindfulness exercises, hands-on activities, and a Q&A session.

The session will be held in the Shiras Room at the Peter White Public Library in Marquette from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday.

The event is free but donations are accepted as this event is sponsored by the non-profit, Meditate Marquette.
