MARQUETTE — Families that suffer from domestic violence in Marquette and Alger counties will soon be able to get help from a state grant that uses federal money to provide in-home counseling and other services. Susanne Kensington, executive director of the Women’s Center, said the project is designed to bring one-on-one help to women and children who live in homes affected by domestic violence and want help. She noted the project is also aimed at heading off domestic violence before women are forced to take refuge.
